Badfish XL

Twenty-One Feet of Inshore Versatility

More than a year in the making, the new Badfish XL offers the same versatility, efficiency, shallow draft, and rough water capabilities as the original Badfish but in a larger 21-foot package ideal for longer runs, bigger water, and heavier loads.

The XL also shares the 18 Inshore’s unique hybrid layout with an expansive raised casting deck forward and an open cockpit aft. The standard fiberglass seating pod with backrest can serve as a livewell, a cooler, or a dry storage compartment. A stand-up console and aluminum leaning post are also available.

Unlike many skiffs in her class, the Badfish XL boasts true self-bailing capabilities with direct drainage through transom scuppers. Three-piece construction allows for wide, walkable gunwales with plenty of rod storage and toe-room underneath, while a graceful Carolina flare and integrated spray rails direct water down and away in chop.

Ultra-lightweight, resin-infused composite construction produces a hull that weighs in at under ### pounds, contributing to the XL’s unmatched efficiency. Powered with the standard 115 hp Tohatsu, she tops out at ## mph and delivers an incredible ## mpg cruise. With three adults and a fishing load, static draft is less than 10”.

A Different Kind of Big Skiff

Unlike other 21-foot skiffs built around 200 to 350 hp outboards weighing upwards of 500 lbs., the Badfish XL was designed from scratch to perform with just 115 to 150 hp — specifically Tohatsu’s lightest-in-class MFS150A. In exchange for extreme top-end speeds, she offers unparalleled fuel efficiency and a sub-10” draft while still easily topping ## mph at WOT. For most inshore anglers, that’s a good tradeoff.

Open Cockpit + Huge Casting Deck

The Badfish XL’s massive, flush casting deck forward easily accommodates two anglers for casting on the flats, while the open cockpit aft is well-suited for anchored or spot-locked bait fishing or even nearshore trolling. The short rear deck provides convenient storage underneath for buckets, cast nets, etc. as well as a mounting location for an optional poling platform.

Helm Station Choices

The Badfish XL comes standard with a fiberglass helm seating pod and flats boat-style console for driving either seated or standing but is also available with a taller bay boat-style console and aluminum leaning post for stand-up driving. The standard pod can be configured with a livewell, built-in cooler, or dry storage. T-tops are also available.
